When trying to load any Go problem, I get the following error:
Invalid SGF data. Sorry, you're screwed. Error message: illegal start of token string: \ in \r\n(;B[ds];W[ar])\r\n(;B[ap];W[ar])

The part that resembles, but the error is always the same.

Using Ubuntu 8.04

Same here, same distro and version.

Solved it by removing icedtea-gcjwebplugin and putting sun-java6-plugin instead...

=> It's a problem with Hardy's default java plugin

I can confirm that this problem also happens in Fedora 9 with the default plugin (openjdk-1.6.0.0-0.16.b09, which is essentially icedtea renamed, IIRC).

The Sun JRE has its own issue, of course. But that's for another thread :)
