Some kind of edit locking

I edited problem 9400 just yet, only to find the result gone because Santa C was doing the same thing at the same time...
Bugger, especially because my fixes are better ;)

Wouldn't it be nice to have some kind of warning when you start editing a problem that anoder editor has taken on in the last hour, when the other editor has not resubmitted it yet?
Or maybe even a lock when editing a problem, only to be released at submitting or inactivity by the locking editor for say 10 minutes?

what are the odds of two people editing at the same time on a problem that's five years old? :)

good idea about locking. i'll think about it. thanks.

Well, the odds are greatly enhanced on problems that top the Invalid or Needs fixing rating, like that one...
I wasn't really fair on Santa C btw, he found and corrected a suboptimal play I introduced. At least we both had a laugh :).
